A Bit About EmilyLet me introduce you to....Emily
Emily Jayne Edwards was Born in Bristol on the 29th October 1980. She moved to her home town of Frome with her Family at the age of 8 months. Between the ages of 2 & 4 She attended Frome's Montessori Nursery, then progressed to St John's Primary School where she stayed until she was 9.
She became heavily involved in music at the School and was a member of the Choir, Recorder Ensemble, Orchestra, and Brass Band. When she was 12, she was given the Schools award, for the student that had contributed most to music throughout their time at the School. Around this age Emily became involved in amature dramatics. She appeared in numerous pantomimes, but also had roles in more serious Drama, and at this time she also became interested in Lighting & Sound Engineering. At the age of 13 Emily appeared in a production of Eugène Ionesco's 'The Lesson' and was the Youngest Lighting & Sound Technician at the Edingburgh Fringe Festival. At 14 She began teaching the Recorder and completed a year of Keyboard lessons. When she was 16, she became involved in a youth project with a group of her friends called 'Phenomena'. They performed at Glastonbury Festival in the Theatre & Circus Field in 1997, 1998 & 1999. She worked at various places from the age of 15, from waitressing to working as a secretary at a Solicitors firm, and spent 6 years at Specsavers managing the Contact Lens Department. Dizzi introduced Emily to the Hammered Dulcimer in 2005 and she has been gigging with her ever since Emily became self employed in May 2010 and has since then been working full time alongside Dizzi. |
