Hello Wytze,
I bought a dulcimer from Dizzi a few months ago and I am very happy with it. Here in North Germany there are no other hammered duclimer players near me :( so I am teaching myself - it is not as hard as it looks.
Dizzi provides a DVD with videos showing how to tune and play the dulcimer and she also provides some easy to read books with some tunes to get started. |
|
Hi Dizzi,
How are you doing? We are wondering if you do some preformens in the Netherlands?
Do you no a dutch person who plays the same instrument as yours. My girl friend
wants to learn it. If we want to buy a instrument at your webshop is there a dutch instructions with it.? She likes the video on you tube,
best regards. |

Hi Dizzi,
I saw your video on youtube("dizzi jig"). I love it so much. It really is a beautiful song. I am a dulcimer player too, but I play Chinese dulcimer, which is a bit different than yours. Is the song you played writen by yourself? It sounds wonderful. I noticed that there is some sheet music sold here. Is the song you played on youtube included? I'd like to buy it if it is.
Anyway, thank you for sharing your music. :) |

Hi Dizzi,
just got your CD "Dulci Solo" and it is fantastic, I played while sitting in the garden on a wonderful warm spring day - pure magic. I loved the hand written card and yes, I do enjoy the music.
Can I make a suggestion or two? I imported the CD into itunes and there were no titles. Could you make a page for the CD with titles and any comments you can make on the tunes - how they were inspired for example.
Another thing is I have decided to plan to learn the hammered dulcimer. That is if I still have the desire in 3-4 months time I will be buying one from you and dedicating my autumn and winter nights to learning and practicing. With this in mind I will have a few questions to ask before I start and if and when I start I will have a lot more. Could you set up a forum on the site?
thanks for the music.
Andrew

Hi Dizzi,
I just found you on YouTube and your playing of the HD is out of this world.
I first heard this instrument 30 years ago while in Asia. Four young ladies were playing
in the hotel restaurant. I thought it was the most amazing sound I had ever heard. I never
knew what the instrument was until I found you and your site.
I wish you all the best and much success.

hi dizzi!
this evening i came over some of your videos on youtube (instead of learning...). i must say, it's such a greater pleasure to listen and watch you playing than reading my boring papers! so, i just wanted to tell you it's lovely sound you make and thank you for distracting my attention in such a wonderful way ;)
big hugs from switzerland! |

Dizzi,
The "Chippie" again...Sorry to bother... but I may have neglected to relay in my previous correspondence that after viewing your videos I am now a fan and am interested in the hammered dulcimer as well. I have this dream in retirement to become a percussion performer and depending on my ability, (or lack of), play at retirement homes for the elderly, elementary schools for the children.... venues such as this....to give a little back to my community. Please, Dizzi, don't let those little children down....their counting on you! :) Ohh yes...almost forgot...my nephew is inquiring, as he is now learing over my right shoulder, if you are "unattached". Good grief! A word to the wise Dizzi, knowing my nephew, the response to that inquiry would best be answered in the negative! Again, thanks for all

Dizzi,
I am 5 years out from retiring from my job as a California Highway Patrolman after over 25 years of "somewhat" devoted service. Let me get to the point....Desperately looking for something to do in my retirement.....Found you.....deeply interested in the hang drum after viewing your video.....NEED to buy one....Pleading for your assistance in acquiring one.
Unknown if you actually read these remarks....but if you do....and you can help me.....if you are ever in California and happen to be stopped by one of California's finest for some menial traffic violation that you were, of course, completely free of any wrong doing.....i may be in the position to, lets say, pull your proverbial bacon out of the perverbial fire. However, this offer is void due to any feloneous activities regarding allied agencies, small children or farm animals.
Seriously though, if you could Dizzi, assist me in acquring a hang drum you would make a "Chippie" most gratefull. Sincerely, Montie-California |

Hi Dizzi nice site and I enjoyed your music on U-Tube...which brought me here. I play guitar and mandolin and a bit of keyboards in a band called Live Steam and have done so for quite a while. I found your music refreshing and different and I might even have a go at the dulcimer when I have saved up a bit...kind regards |
